Singles Would Give Up This For Love

Not eating chocolate for half a year or walking completely naked through the pedestrian zone: what sacrifices would singles be willing to make to find true love? The dating portal “Neu” wanted to know this and surveyed 626 of its members. Click here to read the astonishing results…

Giving up chocolate for half a year: 49 percent of single women would be willing to make this sacrifice to find new love. Surprisingly, however, only one in four men (28 percent) would keep their hands off the sweet treat. This was the result of a survey by the dating portal “Neu.”.

The dating portal asked 626 women and men at the turn of the year what they would give up for six months if they were rewarded with a new relationship. While 37 percent would be willing to forgo chocolate during this period, a total of 23 percent would give up social networks such as Facebook and the like, and 22 percent would skip the after-work beer with friends. Things are quite different when it comes to vacations and holidays: only 13 percent would give these up to find true love. Absolute no-go: banning cell phones! Only 6 percent could imagine six months without their cell phones.

Naked through the pedestrian zone? No thanks!

What singles would give up is also a gender issue. While 20 percent of men would get a full wax, 50 percent would get up at four o’clock every weekend or would learn the entire “Lord of the Rings” trilogy by heart (16 percent) if that would impress the woman of their dreams, only one in four women would go six months without getting a wax. 17 percent of women would study the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, and 38 percent would drag themselves out of bed at four o’clock on the weekend. And how could it be otherwise? Only 13 percent of single women would be willing to give up shopping. However, women and men agree on one point: very few (2 percent) would walk naked through the pedestrian zone for a new relationship.

Here is an overview of the survey: “What would you do without for six months?”

37 percent: Chocolate

23 percent: Social networks

22 percent: After-work beer with friends

13 percent: vacation and holidays

6 percent: My cell phone

Love instead of chocolate? Dream partner instead of Facebook? As the dating portal “Neu” found out, singles would give a lot to finally find true love. We hope for all singles out there that they find happiness in love in 2016—without giving up chocolate, of course!
