Career Changes by Zodiac Sign

Do you love what you do? If you’ve been thinking about changing careers or taking the big leap, read on to see which career is a good fit for your zodiac sign.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Rams love action and excitement, so they’d fit right in at the police academy. The physical demands of training would feel like pushing themselves to run a marathon (which this horoscope sign also loves). Many Aries have great careers in an office, but most of them secretly dream about a job that feels more like an adventure.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

The only thing Bulls love more than eating gourmet food is getting their hands dirty and creating it. These folks would excel in culinary school, and once graduated, make excellent chefs in restaurants, in private homes or on TV.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

This brainy sign knows a lot, and they love to share the knowledge and trivia they’ve picked up along the way. Getting a teaching degree would be a great way to get these folks out of the doldrums of life in an office. Their thirst and enthusiasm for learning would make them an inspiration to the students they teach.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Crabs are nurturing and maternal, so social work is the perfect niche for them. In terms of what to specialize in school-wise, this horoscope sign tends to pick up their causes close to home — the best fit would probably be something a friend or family member has dealt with that they already feel passionately about.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)

Leos love to be the center of attention, so acting school would give them the opportunity to shine. Whether they focus on theater, commercial work or comedy, this horoscope sign is a natural-born talent. Just look at famous Leos Sean Penn and Halle Berry for inspiration.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

If any sign always remembers to dot their “i”s and cross their “t”s, it’s Virgo. That’s why this sign makes great, meticulous editors. Going back to school for an English degree or even taking some classes at the local community college in editing would give this sign the skills they need to expand on their natural talent.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

This refined sign loves to decorate, and with good reason — they’re good at it. They usually have the most put-together, beautiful living spaces, and they’ve probably offered their friends and family some friendly suggestions about theirs. Design school would give these folks a chance to pursue something they have a natural talent and passion for.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

Scorpios love mysteries, and love solving them even more. If ever there was a job that Scorpio was born to do, it’s a private investigator. This sign prefers working alone, too, and would be happiest setting up their own practice once they’ve finished training and gotten their license.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

This horoscope sign hates being stuck in an office for eight hours a day, getting a mere two weeks of vacation each year. They need to be outside traveling, which is why becoming an adventure tour operator in some far-flung locale would give them a thrill. They’ll need to take courses in whatever they plan on teaching — be it rock climbing, spelunking or another extreme sport. Lucky for them, though, learning this kind of new trade won’t feel like work.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

If any sign can compete in a tough real estate market, it’s the determined Goat that excels at most business ventures. Once these folks pass their real estate exam, things should be looking a lot brighter out there in the market, giving them a real opportunity to get in on the ground floor and work their way up.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

Green technology is being trumpeted as the industry of the future, and two things this smart humanitarian has a passion for are science and saving the Earth. Now would be a great time for Aquarians to combine these passions and get a degree in one of the sciences.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

Fish are warm and nurturing, and they love all animals. Veterinary school would be a great fit for Pisces folk. Plus, no matter how bad the economy can get, people are still going to have pets that need care, so it’s a relatively stable career move as well as a labor of love.
