Ranking: Men find female doctors attractive
It has long been known that a person’s profession influences their attractiveness and that many people have a significant influence on their choice of partner. But did you know that there are certain professions that men and women find attractive? Another study by the online dating agency “Elitepartner”, in which 5,000 men were surveyed, found out which professions make a woman particularly attractive to a man.
Actress, model, teacher? Nothing like that. Contrary to all the clichés, most men find female doctors attractive. Even nurses can’t deny them this rank, as they share second and third place with journalists. “Many men like it when women look after them and care for them,” says psychologist Lisa Fischbach, who believes this is the reason for the two male favorites among women’s professions. The fact that female doctors rank above nurses is because men also prefer a partner who is on an equal footing.
Here is the complete result at a glance:
1. Doctor (43%)
2. Journalist (34%)
3. Nurse (34%)
4. Lawyer (33 %)
5. Teacher (33%)
6. Architect (31%)
7. Musician (29%)
8. Actress (27%)
9. Model (24%)
10. Manager (23%)
Women want academics
And what do we women like about men? It’s clear: academics are in demand. According to the University of Bremen, which analyzed the data of 23,000 members in collaboration with the singles exchange ” Parship “, a simple education makes a man uninteresting. The least attractive professions include butcher, painter, caretaker, salesman, or hairdresser. “People looking for a partner seem to automatically conclude various other socioeconomic aspects that influence their choice of partner based on the profession of a potential partner. But the level of education and social standing are also important and increase interest in the respective profession,” says Prof. Uwe Engel from the Institute for Empirical and Applied Sociology at the University of Bremen.
Women in particular find a partner who has an academic profession particularly attractive. Architects and psychologists are very popular with women. But the women, like men, find doctors the most desirable.
