Love Advice: If you’ve been through a toxic relationship, you’re not hurt!

If you’ve been through a toxic relationship, you’re not a survivor!
The experience helps you rise to a higher level of functioning after serious adversity. Here’s why!

Believe me, if you have survived a toxic relationship , you are not damaged! On the contrary, many survivors have special abilities that allow them to heal from the experience of being in an emotionally toxic relationship. They can also improve themselves and become great partners in healthy relationships.

Below are some of the superpowers that toxic relationship survivors possess:

1. High degree of emotional intelligence, empathy and compassion

These people have a high degree of emotional intelligence, which begins with self-awareness.  Toxic people are often very attracted to emotionally intelligent people because insightful people have the same qualities that the abuser lacks.

Those who have experienced difficult relationships demonstrate their ability to empathize with others and often have good intuition . They can usually sense what is happening to others, sense their feelings, and have deep compassion for other living beings.

2. Strength in compromise/problem solving

Many people who come out of toxic relationships are excellent problem solvers. They are good at resolving conflicts and finding compromises in difficult situations. Their experience in difficult relationships has given them strong people skills and diplomacy.

3. Integrity and authenticity

Those who are freed from heavy bonds can express their honesty and align their actions with their words. This special skill leads to the development of trust and consistency that others can trust. Often, abusers are attracted to these qualities because they themselves so desire to be associated with them.

4. Humility and responsibility for your actions

Such people often have a keen sense of self-awareness. They demonstrate their humility by recognizing their responsibility for a mistake. And then they take action to change it.

When they break free from toxic relationships, these survivors gain the superpower to strengthen and rebuild their boundaries, paving the way for healthier relationships in the future.

5. The ability to create healthy relationships through your experiences

Survivors of abusive relationships often gain insight into what it takes to have healthy, productive relationships in the future.  Emotional abusers are most attracted to those who don’t know how to have relationships, so this is a cautionary tale.

If you have experienced relationships with toxic people, you have learned lessons that have led to the knowledge and ability to develop strong, healthy relationships.

You will be able to meet other people who can reciprocate and with whom you can build trust and develop mutual respect and satisfaction. Happiness, love, and understanding to you!
