Strong women live their own lives.

They may have affairs, lovers, or even cohabitants, but never loved ones. Because love makes you a worthless cripple. Love prevents you from achieving what you want in life. Strong women do not fall in love because love is an emotion.

A real woman doesn’t feel anything fully. She toggles her emotions like a switch. A real woman is strong because she was able to become impartial.

Is anyone else exhausted of reading these rants?

Because I am. I am tired, and I think I am not the only one, of the endless contradictions we create for each other. Of the criticism we face when we love, of the criticism we face when we don’t love. I am sick of hearing what it means to be strong and what it means to be weak.

What is right and what is wrong? What we should feel and what we should talk about. We are shamed when we do not love and when we are honest about what we want. And we cannot win this game. So I call on everyone to stop it.

Strength has nothing to do with impartiality. Strength has nothing to do with how quickly, often, or successfully you fall in love or fall out of love. Strength is the measure of honesty you bring to your life. And that means you are the one who decides everything in your life.

Strength is knowing what you want. Strength is fighting for the life you want to live, whether that means becoming president or staying home with your kids. Strength is living your life by definition. Strength is ignoring those who underestimate your efforts. Strength is standing your ground and living what you believe in.

I believe in love. And I believe in my strength. For me, these concepts go hand in hand, and that’s how it should be. People who scoff at attachment, who prefer open relationships, and who are proud of their independence will never understand what a huge force it takes to love.

Show your weaknesses. Put your heart and your desires on the line with no guarantees. Risking everything I have, knowing I can bounce back if things don’t work out, is my definition of strength.

You can be sad and strong. You can be scared and strong. You can put your life back together piece by piece and still be an unbreakable wall. Everyone has their own definition of strength. And you have to live by it.

“Strong women don’t fall in love” is complete nonsense. And we have to stop telling ourselves that. Strong women understand themselves. They give themselves to every moment of life, whether it’s painful, triumphant, or incredible.

Strong women are winners, and they are also trampled. They are not tough nuts that cannot be broken.  They fall and get up again, hundreds of times more often than other, weak people who sit in the stands and only judge their choices.

You don’t need strength to avoid what you want. You don’t need it to criticize others. You need strength to stand your ground. To admit what you want from life and go for it without worrying about what others think.

Strong women fall in love. And sometimes they don’t. They build a career. And sometimes they sit at home with their children. Strong women don’t live by one definition, but what unites them is that they decide for themselves how they want to live. And they try to do everything possible for this.
