Unfortunately, the path to finding your dream prince often involves a few mistakes. You usually notice very quickly whether it could work out with a potential admirer. But what if you only realize on a (blind) date that an evening on the couch would make so much more sense than hanging out in a restaurant with the wrong guy? We’ll tell you how you can get rid of any guy!
In the film “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” Kate Hudson shows us how to do it: There are a whole host of tricks to get rid of a guy. We’ll tell you 11 foolproof ways to escape every bad date.
#1: The classic: Ask a friend to call you and pretend there is an emergency. Are you afraid that your horror date will see through this trick? Have your friend storm into the restaurant crying or maybe even limping.
#2 Date for three: Your admirer is boring as hell, but the menu sounds too promising to leave. Then ask a friend to show up at the restaurant and sit down at your table “uninvited.”. With an apologetic look at him, you let her do it and immediately have a more interesting conversation partner.
#3 I’m off. The restaurant has a back door. Then excuse yourself because you have to go to the little girls’ and disappear unnoticed through the servants’ entrance. On a date at the cinema, you can get rid of your companion by claiming that you are simply getting some more popcorn.
#4 I have to feed the cat: Pets are still your best friend. If the date goes badly, you can say that you forgot to feed the cat—and that you need to do it as soon as possible. “She’ll tear the place apart if she doesn’t get something to eat regularly.”
#5 Sudden promotion: That boring guy you’ve been running into is in the bathroom right now? Perfect time to check your emails and find out that your boss has an important task for you that would lead to your promotion. Who would want to stand in your way?
#6 Beware of sexually transmitted diseases: If you notice that things aren’t going to work out with your partner, you can get rid of him by telling him at the beginning of the date about the various sexually transmitted diseases you are currently being treated for. “But it’s all completely harmless…”
#7 Allergy attack: Anyone with a bit of acting talent can get rid of unwanted admirers by faking an allergic reaction. “Were there peanuts in the pesto?!?! Cough, wheeze…”
#8 Send him away: You made it to the end of the date, but now he insists on taking you home in a taxi—and maybe even coming to your apartment? First, get in the taxi, tell him that you left your cell phone in the restaurant—would he please be so kind as to get it—and hey presto, off you go home!
#9: Beware of the friend zone: You’re not interested in your date? Then tell him how good you could imagine him at the side of the sweet waitress, ask her for her phone number for him, and then say in an enthusiastic tone, “I think it’s great that we’re such good friends!” This will get rid of him as a romantic admirer!
#10 Body Switch: Your friend has agreed to help you, but the old “emergency number” is too obvious for you. Excuse yourself briefly and go to the bathroom to “freshen up.”. Instead of returning to the table yourself, you send your friend. She sits down without comment and acts as if she were you. “What, you just put on some lipstick, and suddenly you don’t even recognize me?!”
#11 Be honest: The problem with most lies to get rid of a man is that he will probably see through you very quickly. Just because he’s boring doesn’t mean he’s stupid. So just tell him honestly that you can’t imagine anything happening between the two of you and that you could save yourself the trouble.
